Red Bull and Cell C ROCKED Johannesburg last night with a massive party for the official launch of Red Bull Mobile. We were lucky enough to get hold of a VIP pass, and get knee deep in the action.
The launch party was held at Turbine Hall in Newtown – a perfect location for the event. Loads of Celebrities turned out including world surfing champion Jordy Smith. Red Bull sure know how to through a party, plenty of drinks flowing, a Red Bull F1 car on show, a red carpet and a super cool VIP area. Within a few hours #RedBullMOBILEza shot to a trending topic on twitter.
However the party really kicked off when we moved through to the main stage area to watch the Beat Bangers and some seriously talented break dancers.
Lars P Reichelt, the real CEO took the stage and spoke about the partnership between Red Bull and Cell C. It seems the key focus of the Red Bull Mobile offering is the access to the content from within the world of Red Bull. The footage that we saw looked very impressive.
Straight after Lars Goldfish kicked off with their act, but what really got me excited was Faithless. There has been a lot of controversy over the past week about poor event management at Faithless’s JHB concert. This was not the case here. Faitheless played an unbelievable set to a small but intense crowd. Check out some of the pics below:
Simultaneous to the launch last night was the launch of the Red Bull Mobile website which reveals the aggressive pricing of their new packages. The really cool thing about these packages is the massive amount of data provided, very very cool:
We will be getting a RBM HD handset to review in the next couple of days – so stay tuned! Check out the video of the event below courtesy of Red Bull:
