Dishonored is an action FPS where you play the role of a supernatural assassin in 1600′s London. This gritty yet beautiful game definitely has our attention.
You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with neo-industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you, abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.
There are a couple of really cool features in Dishonored. You can Teleport for stealth approaches (called Blink in the game), possess any living creature, summon rats, or stop time itself to orchestrate unearthly executions. Combining your suite of supernatural abilities and weapons with the sandbox style missions that allow you to approach assassination from any angle should provide a really fun experience.
All of this is wrapped up in a hugely stylistic art style, based on 1600′s London. You can definitely see the influence of former Half-Life 2 artist Viktor Antonov, and it looks fantastic, even at the game’s early stage in development. We can’t wait for this game!
