The team at Epic Games have showcased the next Unreal 4 Engine demo at GDC last week, all things being equal, it's the best unreal 4 engine demo yet, we investigate why. Unreal-Engine-4_Infiltrator_1 If there is one thing we have come to expect from the unreal engine is its ability to deliver benchmark-setting visuals at optimal framerates that flow like a soft piece of silk in a cool breeze, no matter what hardware it is rendered on - the Unreal 3 engine is a testament to this. The main reason for its success is because the team at Epic games live by a philosophy that many game developers quickly disregard, it can be summarized as follows:
  1. They will not release a buggy, stuttering and otherwise incomplete game engine. The result, a feeling of deep gameplay immersion that leaves a sense of satisfaction long after the game is forgotten, Unreal Tournament 3 proved this.
  2. The Infinity blade iOS tablet-based games are a testament to just what the Unreal Engine developers can deliver from even the most limited hardware.
  3. They believe in long term commitment to a project, not fly-by-night releases - the Unreal Engine 4 has been in development since 2003.
  4. Lastly, the Gears of War series has demonstrated the longevity of an engine that is developed perfectly from the onset, initially announced in 2006 as the first game to run on the Unreal Engine 3, its latest installment titled Gears of War Judgement was announced in 2012 -6 years on- also releases on the Unreal Engine 3.

However that's all about to change with the launch of Kleek. kleek south africa music streaming Universal Music Group, in partnership with Samsung, as well as African and international music labels and publishers, has launched a pan-African mobile music streaming service called the Kleek.  Designed and built specifically for Africa, the Kleek will bring music lovers closer to their favourite artists, while also providing artists with valuable access to a wider pan-African audience. The Kleek was officially unveiled today at the Samsung Africa Forum in Cape Town, accompanied by a live performance from acclaimed singer-songwriter Zahara. The 25-year-old Eastern Cape artist performed songs from her nine times SAMA-winning debut album ‘Loliwe’.
“With the Kleek, we are not just delivering the best local and international music, we are providing all of Africa with a unique and bespoke user experience,” explained Randall Abrahams, Managing Director, Universal Music South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.  “The service will also help us focus on developing future stars from across the continent,” Abrahams added.
Universal Music has partnered with Samsung Electronics Africa, who will be the exclusive smartphone partner for the Kleek for the first two years.  The Kleek, which has been optimised for Samsung smartphones, will initially be available free to users.  Through the application users will have access to a massive range of content, including artist, genre and celebrity playlists; exclusive album previews; artist diaries and charts.
“Samsung smartphone devices are optimised for high quality sound, and are ideal for the Kleek,” said Thabiet Allie, Head of Content and Services at Samsung Electronics Africa.  “Samsung recognises that the African market is very different to that of its European, Asian and American counterparts.  We are thus, through our Built for Africa initiatives, focused on building services and partnering with the best local and international content owners and this partnership is testament to that,” concluded Allie.

If trailers are anything to go by, the new Dead Island sequel, Riptide, is going to be every bit as gruesome as the original. The new trailer for Dead Island Riptide has been created with the same dark, desperate and helpless tone as the original, it's brilliantly put together and unlike the game, is most certainly guaranteed to entertain you.
