Brands use social media. They have pages, feed, likes, comments, updates, tweets, etc (they tick all the right boxes), but do they use social media to its full potential? Probably not.
The royal wedding will have its fair share of etiquette and protocol, more so than the weddings us normal folks would attend. So when T-Mobile had the idea of modernising the whole affair by taking lead from a viral wedding video, we had to take a look.
Two French software developers put together this cool app that makes use of the iPad 2′s front facing camera. The app tracks your face and adjusts the image on the iPad accordingly to create the illusion of depth. No glasses are required, the image merely tricks the brain into thinking there really is a 3D scene behind the glass screen.
Off-axis projection is used to adapt the perspective of the 3D images according to the position of one’s head. The technology has been dubbed “head coupled perspective” and has a similar effect to the Nintendo 3DS handheld console. The Nintendo 3DS, however works differently as it uses a custom screen that delivers seperate images to each eye to create the 3D effect. The head tracking app is available for iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
